If you like to have your pace and quiet in the noisy city, you can find it here. Chances are that you turn out to be the only guest here. Surprisingly enough food is pretty good and the service is very nice and attentive, too (what wonder?!).
Only bad thing that the atmosphere is kind of formal and somewhat stiff, a bit of a more relaxed and casual atmosphere would certainly go a long way here.

Only three stars from me as an indication for my utter unhappyness with the composition of the menu: Yes, the food and atmosphere is excellent, but there are only two vegetarian choices (one phantatic salad, one unbelievebaly tasty tofu dish) there. Come on, if you can do two great dishes, why not add two more for variance?
Weeeeeell, ok, four stars. But only because the tofu is so good :-)

I never tried the Indian food, but apparently this was a big mistake.
I like it for the cafe house atmosphere and because it's really roomy. Coffee is good, the Vietnamese food is ok. Waiters are always nice and helpful. Good place to hang out on lazy/rainy sundays.

I also stumbled over this little gem of a restaurant. The interior is definitely pretty hip with some contemporary art on the wall. The food is excellent; with a lot of vegetarian options!

Hi,
I see a lot of old Vespas from the 60s driving around town, but they never seem to be sold somewhere. Does anyone know, where to buy them?
In addition, does anybody know where to buy new and original Nikon cameras? Some of the prices (and the bodies) look too good to be true and I suspect they are just copies?!

Hi,
what about these "vintage" Rolex watches ("Rolex Oyster" I think) that look pretty rugged and worn out? They look like they are from the 60s and they are pretty expensive, around USD 50-60. Are these originals or copies, too?

Hi,
the X games is somewhat hard to find, but it is right on Ba Trieu. Imagine going north from Vincom: First you have to pass the KFC, X games is near the corner of the *next* street (on the side of KFC). It has joysticks and stuff in its window.
They only sell copies like anywhere else in Vietnam, which is annoying (you can't play multiplayer and you can't run updates). My tip is: whenever you go to Bangkok stock up on game originals there. They are pretty cheap (I paid like $5 for EU 3, because after 3 months it was already considered 'old')...

About Yoga: I am only aware of one place, which is Zenith Yoga. This one is on the West Lake (Xuan Dieu Street) and therefore might be a bit far from you (well, it's actually a bit far from everybody, except from those living at the Lake, actually :-).

I second that: get two separate units. I was thinking of getting a "all in one" solution, too, but these are a) hard to find and b) much more expensive. As uglyman said, two units also help with troubleshooting, which is very, very true.
I myself have a Linksys WRT54G (I bought it here, ca $70), which is a pretty basic, but robust device and easy to set up. Signal is pretty strong all through my house, so no worries here.

Nope, no legit copies on sale here in Hanoi.
When in BKK try the MBK shopping center, there is a computer game shop on the top floor (where they sell all the cell phones) which has some good prices and all originals.
Handbooks are in Thai, though, but handbooks are for whimps anyway :-).

Two things about tailors and suits:
1. Bring one of your own suits and let the tailor copy the style. This is usually the fastest way to get things done and to make sure you like the style.
2. Don't get lured in by labels: Even if the label on the fabric says "Super 120s, Cashmere" it is usually neither a 120s (or whatever) nor Cashmere (but you can see that right away).

Usually things like that usually happen to me on the weekends, after visiting a popular spot (water puppets, Mausoleum,...) or late at night. In theses case I now take only 'reputable' taxis (ML, CP, Hanoi) or a motorbike.
Three strategies:
- If they don't have change: just wait. Although it seems that you are going to lose the wait-out, usually the guys give in after 2 minutes and get change.
- If they overcharge (during the ride): tell them that their taximeter is "broken" and either renegotiate a full price then without taximeter or get out.
- If they overcharge and you did not realize until the end of the ride: Offer them the price you usually pay plus a bit on top "for their troubles" and tell them that this is the usual price. Then wait if they agree (see above). Some of the guys get apparently very angry and show you how many billions you owe them on the taximeter. However, they know themselves best that they overcharge big time (and that they could overcharge other people of they would only get you out of their taxi). Stay calm. If they don't agree after a good old wait-out, well, you need to give them what the taximeter says, before they get really very very angry :-(.
