hi, i am a freelance guide in Hanoi, working for some big travel agents here. I have been working as a guide for 2.5 years. So hopefully i could give u some good recommendations. The best museum here is Museum of Ethnology, then the Army museum, the temple of literature. And I also recommend the memorial house at 87 Ma may str.
Shouldnt go to the Womens' museum, its not really good and doesnt have much things to see. Actually when u go to museums here, u need to try to understand the meanings and symbolism of the exhibits.

One more thing, shouldnt go there on monday, they all close on Mondays and some close on friday. If u need any informations, just drop me a line at hangvp@hotmail.com. I m more than happy to help u.

The Hanoi ancient citadel now includes 5 sections: The Flag Tower ( u have to go through the Army museum)- Dien Bien Phu str, Doan Mon Gate - the entrance gate is at Hoang Dieu str, Kinh Thien Palace - Hoang Dieu Str, Hau Lau - Hoang Dieu Str, and Northern Gate ( Cua bac) - Phan Dinh Phung str. They are separated, so u have to go through different entries...

U can go to the memorial house at 87 Ma may str. They have a lot of activities there, showing u about the meaning of Mid-Autumn Festival, how to make toys, lanterns, masks, Moon Cakes, young sticky rice. The house is opened from 8 am to 5 pm. Have fun!

hello, i know that they have the scuba diving service at Titov island in Halong bay. If you take a 2 days 1 night trip there, they always stop by the island for swimming, so u can ask for that!!! Hope it helps, cheers!

hi, i just passed by the shop, its at 52 Quan Su street. But actually its a small shop opening on the sidewalk. So u should go there in the daytime, but not at this moment, they all close for Tet. And one more thing, the owner cant speak English, you should take a local friend with you or at least u bring your paintings there, he can figure out how big of the frames. Hope it helps!

well, temple of literature: 5000vnd, Ngoc Son temple: 3000vnd, Quan Thanh temple near westlake: 2000vnd, and for the other pagodas/ buddhist temples you dont need to pay :)
