• Coming to to Hanoi and may be teaching English (like everyone else it seems). thinking of bringing up few good text books and dictionaries (eg Collins Cobuild). Is this an overkill?....are there plenty of good book stores up there with modern teaching stuff.

• My wife and I are landing in Hanoi in about 4 weeks time, (from Adelaide, Australia) will be looking to buy a basic mobile phone each. Any hints on phones and good value carriers??

• I Want to buy a new Honda Wave RS (100cc) or near new. Any tips on best place to go for price and maybe a little English spoken?

  Also anyone out there who has recently got their motor bike licence? I have Ausssie drivers licence but not Aussie bike licence.

  My wife and I have just arrived in Hanoi to live and do part time work for about one year. I have lectured in Singspore many times, and in Sarawak.

  We have seen lots of Asia. My verdict in less than 20 words is "fantastic place to live".. very friendly, kind and helpful people. Highly recommend it. Sure the traffic is hideous but hey you sort of get used to it. Food great, cheap and healthy.

  Went to the second hand market at "kiot A29 cho xe may Dich Vong". Stacks of 2nd hand bikes all look great. ONly issue is that there does not seem to be a great dicsount for the fact they are second hand. For example a bike thats done 5000 km is about 1m dongs less than a new one. Ratther buy a new one. In fact we are here for only one year so I will probably rent one for $45 per month.
