I went to Golden Land to meet a friend for lunch. She raved about the chocolate cake there, and me being a desserts connesieur had to check it out for myself.
The restaurant was full of foreigners, but was very nice and clean. Its the only restaurant that stands out on the street as a "fancy" place - it looks like a restaurant. The menu was fairly extensive and a little expensive for the usual Vietnamese fare, but it included the famous Cha Ca. I didn't have Cha Ca, but the table next to me did and it looked damn good. A bit more of a civilised affair than the famous Cha Ca place and cheaper too at 79,000VND.
I just stuck with some vegetable/beef noodles 50,000VND which were ok, nothing to rave home about. But then the much hyped chocolate cake. And yes - surprisingly the cake was fantastic! It was a dense chocolate mouse cake with fudgey type icing. For 30,000 it is a little pricey and I wish they were a bit more generous with the size, but it was a little piece of chocolate heaven.
I would definately return for the chocolate cake and maybe to try Cha Ca.

Well after just coming back from a shopping weekend in KL I can say that the two most central and best range of places (according to my sister who's almost a local) are KLCC (they have Gap in there) and Pavilion shopping centre. (both walking distance from each other).
Pavillion has a huge forever 21 with a big discount section up the back where i got lots of stuff. Both have the usual suspects, my favourite shops like Topshop, Mango, Zara. If your after more classic stuff I also so banana republic and club monaco (i think in KLCC - maybe u shd google what shops they've got) And if you are lucky all the sales will still be on.
The Dept stores have big underwear sections - Tangs and Parkson
In response to the question: Am headed on a short (1 week) vacation to KL in a couple of weeks and unfor will need to do some shopping while there. I am a rare woman, I HATE shopp...
