I went there today for lunch. Really nice people. I don't know anything about Hue cuisine, so I can't say how authentic it is.
I had the mixed plate of dim sum-like rice dumplings. They were beautiful to look at and incredibly delicate and light with subtle complex flavours. Then I had the fried jack fruit and prawn with rice cracker (like a papadam). It was a combination of flavours and textures. Just wonderful. The locals were eating the bowls of noodles, which were huge and only 30000.

With 2 beers my meal cost 110000.

I work reasonably close and will definitely be going back.

What a cool place.

about the venue: Viet Long Housing Agents

I have just found a great place through this agency. I chose it based on the other reviews and I can only agree with them. I've only been in Hanoi 3 weeks and was expecting finding something to be a real pain. I have to say that I felt all of the guys at Viet Long dealt with me honestly and were genuinely trying to get me what I wanted even though I wasn't really sure myself. San sorted out the bilingual contract and really helped me through the process, keeping me informed with calls and emails. All in all, it is a very professional agency.

  • Can anyone recommend a Vespa mechanic?

I've just bought an old one and it needs a thorough going over.

Also are there any enthusiasts who want to get together to go for rides or pose around town on their beautiful machines?

  • there was a horrible accident yesterday morning. I saw a dead body on the dyke road just up from the Vietcom Bank. I think it must have been a foreigner. He was a big guy and he had been riding a big bike. I'm not sure what happened but it looked like he had been hit by a bus.

Does anybody know him? I just wanted to pass on my condolences to anybody who knew him.

It really makes you think. Everybody please be careful on your bikes.
