about the event: Live-Rock/Hard Rock by Hanoi Musicians @ Ban Mai Cafe
This is a great chance to see some rock baby.
The cafe is small and fills up quickly with young university students. Beer was cheap and the band was smokin'.
My only concern was the lack of hard rock audience culture...sitting around drinking coffee and not watching the band is odd...they should all be in their Pantera shirts headbanging!!!
I saw the best cover of Iron Man I have ever seen in my life played here.
The guitarist is really good and i enjoyed having a chat with the band members after the gig.
If you are hanging to see some shreddin...hit here on a Sunday or Tuesday night.

Yum Yum Yum Yum.
Take a friend there for some great Vietnamese food that is hard to find in Hanoi.
Just so goddam tasty...thinking about it now.

The trick with this place is that you pay for atmosphere. I though the food was average and overpriced.
Nevertheless it has the best atmosphere of any restaurant I have been to in Hanoi. I will not be going here again however...just too damn expensive for what you get.

This review is for delivery only, but, I think it was outstanding. The Pizzas are the real deal with great ingredients in the correct Italian style, quality over quantity...Not that chuck a shitload of everything that can be digested on it...as is the Australian way.
A great greek salad with good fetta and fantastic balsamic vinegar was the highlight...I mean I have not eaten lettuce in the last 9 months except for the occassional bun cha.
I reckon if you were dating an Italian bird this would be the place for you take her...although the reports of poor service alarms me.
Might be better to order delivery.

This is one of my lunchtime locals. I order a beguette from here at least once a week.
The delivery is outrageously fast, and by Hanoi standards the baguettes are good.
Prosciutto, Chorizo and good salami plus plenty of cheeses make good eating.
Did I mention it was cheap? $40,000VND for a baguette with prime goods the size of your forearm.

Cockroach baits. I cannot find them anywhere...it seems the only way to rid these foul creatures is to use fly spray which I am not a big fan of.
See my quandary?
Does anyone know where I can buy the good old slip one behind the bog and one under the fridge and sink baits?
