I heard that this place will be closed soon because the house's owner wants to take the place back. What a pity!

it is amazing to find this bar in another side of West Lake. The set up is good. Today I went there with two American friends and they were so surprised that there was only few customers. But I believe it will be packed soon. They better do some PR work.

about the venue: L'Espace - Centre Culturel Francais de Hanoi

It is where Im studying french. They hold cultural performance frequently there. Including musical, cinematic...festival. It's good chance for us Hanoian, speaking and non-speaking francais to enjoy the ambiance mixed of the ancient/model Hanoi and francophone culture.
The library is on the 1st floor. You can have a member card (200K for 1 year); beside French publication, they also have English and Vietnamese books.
Take ur time to check out the schedule which is always available at the reception (ground floor)

I dont think we can get their with our budget from 80-150K.
Anyway it is good place for dinning (especially when u wanna change ur usual resto) in any season: Good atmosphere, air, food and service.
They have another one at No 5 Truc Bach Str.,

It is one oF the most funny places I've been to.
The first time, Two friends and I entered this club, the older friend couldnt stand the loud but crazy voice there then we left immediately. Of course he is not my generation but I thought he was right, not place for intellectual people. The MC was so funny, yes, all that he said is "oh yes, oac oac, ecch ecch, come on...or somewhat..
Im hanoian and I wondered how the foreigners thought about Hanoi if they firstly knew it through that place. Bad impression huh? But many young hanoian come there everyday. You can meet people there though. But believe me, it is not place for typical young intellectual and open-minded vietnamese
The second time, I and some Malaysian friends went there. Couldnt enjoy it! It was the last time.

Anyone knows a bookshop which has surely the "When the heaven and earth changed places"-by a Vietnamese lady and "THe time in between" - by David Bergen? I meant the original one. I have the copied book of "when..." I tried to find it in Hanoi and HCMC but couldnt find.
Anyone could give a comment for this song? http://www.nhacso.net//Music/Song/Tru-Tinh/2006/01/05F601C1/Default.asp
It is in english and composed and sang by a Vietnamese singer (composing is not popular for singers in Vietnam) I like it and appriciate her work but Im wondering how most of the foreigners who speak english think about it. Just a bit curious, she is always my favorite singer. Thanks

Have u heard about "Made in Vietnam" shop chain? There are various type of clothing with big size. They are good clothing which are made in Vietnam but the trade mark are some well known ones, it is said that Guess, Levis, Abecrombie, American Eagle, DKNY...have their process here because of low labor price then they reexport but the volume exceed the order or there are some errors but we can hardly find it....
1 is in Ly THuong Kiet str(M2), in front of Melia Hotel, another is in the corner between Hang Thung and Nguyen Huu Huan. Many big size there, Vietnamese do not fit them.

Hi
It was my question 2 days ago. But I hesitated to pose such kind of question here as it is related to our security. I did call "Maid In Vietnam" but the price is quite high. I asked some friends to see if they know someone well and she is available to do this job. A good way is asking some of ur friends if their maid is avaible to do some work at your house. I have a french friend who has a maid speaking "courrament" french (she is around 60 years-old) and does full-time job, the salary is only 1.2M. But as I know, the salary for partime maid (6 days per week) is around 800K-1M. We should pay them that little money if they are deserved
In response to the question: Please can anyone recommend a good, reliable and proactive maid/cleaner and gardener? Also, can anyone tell me what the going rate is for such help? I...

Hi, I suggest some shops:
- Euroshoes next to the corner of Phan Boi Chau str., (from Cua Nam, turn right)
- Isalyna shop (100 Kim Ma or other addresses at Le Thanh Ton and Trang Thi)- But at Kim Ma's, I saw that there are many trendy shoes with big size (40 and above)
- Topshop (Nguyen Bieu str.,- near Truc Bach Lake) many big size with the good quality, design and "good" price - from 1.5M
Just hav some in my mind now, good luck to you then
