• Dear All

  Looking to move to Vietnam in August 2007. For the work permit I need to have degrees etc translated into Vietnamese. I cannot do this locally before leaving as there is no-one capable in this part of the world.

  If anyone has experience of this, could you please in simple steps explain the procedure for applying and could I arrive on say a multiple entry Visa and then have the translations done in Hanoi once I have arrived??

• Love this site, such useful info for us newbies.

  Another question, ff we bring a container with our household goods, will it be subject to any taxes. By goods we refer to furniture, kitchen appliances, CDs, CD ROMs, desktop computer, piano, books etc. All is used and fairly old and will not be for resale. Any help will be appreciated.

• Hi I have a Blackberry that I would like to make work in Vietnam. To receive e-mails I am told I need to have my sim card "enterprise activated". I have looked on all the suppliers' sites ie Mobifone, Viettel and Vinaphone without joy.

  Hi we bought an umbrella and outdoor patio furniture from Cans Rattan. Decent stuff 2-3 weeks delivery if they do not have it in stock, and you have to haggle the prices as they start a bit on the high side.They are at 17 Ngo 4 Nguyen Dinh Chieu.
