There is a bunch of glasses shops and opticians on Giang Vo, and some more in town around Trang Tien plaza. I am sure some of them would sell some, especially the bigger ones with Opticians inside them. Possibly all the sunglasses places on Luong Van Can, near Little Hanoi might sell you some too, but that's more of a stretch, I'd guess.

Given the large number of optical shops around town, you will most likely find contact lens materials ( presumably in the size you need). If that route fails to turn up a small bottle of lens solution, however, try www.minimus.biz. The company specializes in providinga very large variety of mini, travel-sized items including two once bottles of lens solution. The place will ship but the overseas freight sports a real price tag. For that reason, folks who use the service typically stock up on what they need from Minimus before departure.

I've always had the best luck near the eye hospital on Ba Trieu -- just around the corner are a plethora of glasses stores, and they always have contact solution. Finding the travel size has been a bit hit and miss, but that's the place I've had the best luck w/it.

Thanks for your advice, guys. I've had no joy, but am yet to try the eye-hospital area. One shop said that no-one in Hanoi is selling travel size at the moment because the supplier stopped supplying it about 3 months ago. Not sure if that's true, but i'll give it one last shot at Ba Trieu. Cheers!

this isn't really an answer, just sharing some advice from my optometrist. While traveling it really makes a lot more sense to use daily disposable contacts. They aren't that much more expensive and you don't have to worry about keeping them, cleaning, and every day the pair you put in is brand new and sterile.

Hurrah! Travel-size solution has arrived! I saw some yesterday at the optometrist's in Trang Tien Plaza (ground floor)-- 45,000. They also had nice rewetting drops, if anyone is looking for those.
