Hey im trying to find some decent clothes for myself, im currently in hanoi and have had little luck with the few places i have been too, Things of Substance had some nice stuff but not big enough, i generally wear 2xl and 3xl size clothing in australia, please help.

Go to LeChat Studio on 14A Hang Chuoi str. Tel: 971 8585. They usually have very large size that wouldn't fit Vietnamese. Or you can pick something you like and ask them to tailor it individually for you. Will post more places.

i just saw a Big Size shop in the Old quarter, its on 23 Dao Duy Tu str. Hope it helps!
thanks hangvp will check it out saturday, going to mai chau tomorrow. chipswithouts i went to lechat studio unfortunatly all they had for guys where afew ties, ladies clothes looked ok but i dare not begin to think i know womens fashion.

Ladies or Gents.... the best tailor in Ha Noi is Linh. Caters mainly to foreigners resident in Ha Noi. She has a private workshop/studio located at 3B Ha Hoi. Good prices, high quality work, and she is prepared to spend time with her customers. For fabric choice she will take you to the largest fabric market in Ha Noi (an experience in itself!!!). Not a 24 hour/overnight tailor, proper fittings done until you are 100% satisfied with the garment. Her number is 0903286829.

Try the factory shops on Minh Khai Street. Go down Banh Mai Street (southern extension of Pho Hue) and turn left at Minh Khai - after Cho Mo. Keep your eyes on the right. The shops affiliated with the factories are on your right. If you get to the canal you've gone too far. Alternatively try the Russian Shop under Hanoi Tower - 49 Hai Ba Trung.
hangvp, Thanks went for a look walked away with acouple of t-shirts of good qaulity and the right size.
Forgot to add i ended up at half man half monkey afterwards for a beer and met afew friendly solo travellers like myself was a good afternoon.

Have u heard about "Made in Vietnam" shop chain? There are various type of clothing with big size. They are good clothing which are made in Vietnam but the trade mark are some well known ones, it is said that Guess, Levis, Abecrombie, American Eagle, DKNY...have their process here because of low labor price then they reexport but the volume exceed the order or there are some errors but we can hardly find it.... 1 is in Ly THuong Kiet str(M2), in front of Melia Hotel, another is in the corner between Hang Thung and Nguyen Huu Huan. Many big size there, Vietnamese do not fit them.
