Blackberry doesn't work
no photo available

Hi I have a Blackberry that I would like to make work in Vietnam. To receive e-mails I am told I need to have my sim card "enterprise activated". I have looked on all the suppliers' sites ie Mobifone, Viettel and Vinaphone without joy.

Any advice will be much appreciated

I don't know much about Blackberry (in fact I don't like it) but my friend is really crazy about BB. So I have known that if you wanna use BB in Vietnam, you must unlock it! Try this address: http://www.tungseu.com/
they have 3 shops in Hanoi:
1) 159 PHỖ VỌNG
09.36.36.87.36
095.626.3333

2) 364 KHÂM THIÊN
09.36.22.33.88
3) 1110 ĐƯỜNG LÁNG
094.8998.818

Or you can search "unlock blackberry" on the internet to find out.
Good luck!

Viettel will be bringing the BlackBerry 8700, BlackBerry 8800, BlackBerry 8100 and BlackBerry 8320 to Vietnam this October. The 4,000 devices on the way will be the first shipment Vietnam sees, and Veittel is lined up to be the sole distributer in the long run.

I have a blackberry also, but I have no idea how to set up the email. If you figure it out, shoot me over an email. It would be useful. Mine is unlocked, so I can use the opera function, phone, text. But i have no idea on email alerts/transfers and blackberry messenger.

I don't know how to setup email alerts and messenger but All mobile networks in Vietnam provide internet service. Thus, you can call their "Chăm sóc khách hàng" number to setup internet access, and other service package. My friend's BB can easily surf internet and check/transfer mail without attached file!

Viettel now has blackberry with push email but you have to buy a blackberry from them for it to work. The only blackberry currently available from them with push email is the 8100 which retails for around $500.They have 2 other models that don't have push mail but look much better.

Yesterday I saw a Blackberry promotion at the department store at the south end of Hoan Kiem Lake. They were demoing three different models, so it might be worth your while to drop by and see what they have to say.
