I assist you now, "Santa": You can visit: #35 lane 172 - Ngọc Hà road - Ba Đình district. RIO Hamster Shop at #46 - lane 7 - Thái Hà street - Đống Đa district. Tel: 0936763676. http://rio-shop.com There's a community of hamster owners: http://hamstervn.net/diendan/index.php If you can read Vietnamese and find someone who (for some reasons) wants to sell his/her hamster on the site above, then you can buy for a lower price. Good luck

hi, I am not sure if you can find any hamsters in hanoi at this moment. As "Vietnam has banned the sale and possession of hamsters, whose popularity has been soaring. The Ministry of Agriculture says anyone caught with a hamster will be fined up to 30m dong ($1,900).The authorities say the creatures are a potential source of disease." BBC News Good luck!

You can buy Guinea pics on Hang Da market. They may not have them displayed, you have to ask and they will bring it (you need one who speaks Vietnamese to help you). However, you should consider buying two of them since Guinea pics are very social - you should not keep one alone.

I'm also looking for a new hamster, since mine died last week. I went to those 2 addresses : first one in Ngoc Ha is a normal house, no one was answering, second one in Thai Ha they don't sell or breed anymore. I would also be ok to buy a Guinea pig, Annett are you sure they still sell those in Hang Da? when was the last time you saw any?
We bought our Guinea pig end of July, in the very hot season. As I said, you cannot see them on the market, you have to ask the vendors. We went there together with a VN speaking person who helped us to ask around.
