Do people get much spam in response to things they post here? I just asked a question two days ago and just got the following spam message (the funniest part is the sender claims to "love" my profile - except my profile is blank except for my name...).
But is there monitoring of this stuff? Is there a function where you can report users like this who are using their accounts for spamming?

The account it was sent with via private message has been banned. Have you posted your email anywhere on the site recently?

lucky for me, nothing yet. What are you guys doing? LOL LOL in a way it's good, that really show that TNH is a popular site with good traffic or else spammer would not bother. but on the other way, it's not cool for people who get some. But hey !!!! aren't spams part of our daily routine now a days???? but usually one good trick is actually not to respond. By responding you indicate the f#$%@ spammer you do exist and that your account is active. even if you send him an email saying to remove you from his list, he will probably remove you from that one to put you in another one. it's a never ending story. And for those who gets spams here is one more good trick, you set up a gmail account that you use for forums, groups...and TNH. And have all the emails forwarded to your good email address. gmail has a pretty good and solid spam filter. And when you forward all incoming emails, it does not forward the spams. you just simply log in once in a while and check the spam box to make sure it did block good emails which you can add to the white list if it happen.

I got it too. Alpha do something about this. This is turning like a Patpong scene .... online n in Hanoi.
We're looking into it. The private messaging spam is something that (unfortunately) is going going to happen at times. We ban those users as soon as we're notified. The emailed spam is more concerning. If you received the above listed message to your email address, please send me a private message or email (elliott@newhanoian.com) with the details of it all. Include your email address that the message was sent to, the subject line, and the text.
