Mobile phone repair?
no photo available

So I dropped my nice Sony Ericsson mobile phone on its head yesterday and now the screen is a complete blank. Everything else seems to function normally - but I can't see what I'm doing.

Anybody know if there is hope for my phone? Does anybody know of a mobile phone REPAIR shop in Hanoi?

Ferris Wheel

You may find repair shop everywhere however most of them are not trusted.
There're places you may try:
Sony Ericsson:
33 Trần Hưng Đạo st.- 9435440
18 Điện Biên Phủ st.- 7473908/04/07

They're big shops and have a lot of substitutional parts.
I'm not sure how much they charge now.
If it won't help, let me know. I'll ask my friends because they use Sony Ericsson mobile phones.

Virezo - thanks so much for your suggestion.

The Tran Hung Dao street location was closed on Sunday, so I went to Dien Bien Phu. They referred me to the Sony Ericsson Customer Service Centre at

36 Ba Trieu

I went there this morning and they disassembled my phone, announced it quite broken a needing about 3 days to fix. They looked up my warranty, gave me a loner phone to use in the meantime and sent me off to wait for the phone call to come and retrieve it. About as decent of service as I have gotten for anything anywhere in Vietnam.

I will update this again when all is said and done.

Thanks again!

As a Sony Ericsson user, I'd go to any of these 3 Sony Ericsson Customer Service Centers in Hanoi:
- 10 Dao Tan (near Daewoo Hotel)
- 33A Tran Hung Dao
- 36 Ba Trieu (which is also P&T mobile showroom)
You can also find them on the Sony Ericsson Vietnam website.

Final update: 36 Ba Trieu did fantastic work - fast and free (under warranty). Phone works great!

Thanks for the tips and feedback - hope this helps others.

Just to add to this thread for info, had a similar problem, I dropped my Sony Ericsson too a year ago and went to Ba Trieu st, they were lovely but had to wait a long time. Paid 750,000 D for a new screen, worked OK for a month and then bling and started getting fuzzy. And sometimes the screen would be totally unreadable, hence went back there and they said that the part they replaced guarantee was up ! ...was only valid for a month. In the end, I chucked the SE and bought a new phone.

This is great info, but I have a Motorola that died in the floods. Wanna see if it can be fixed. Does anyone know if the above or diff shops fix Motorolas?

Thanks,
Steph
