Can someone tell me where I can buy chunky plastic blocks for toddlers. You know, the kind that look look giant lego. I think one brand name is Duplo.

I've tried many places but I haven't been able to augment the small stash I got in Hong Kong.

I haven't seen Duplo branch in Hanoi.

You can try Luong Van Can st. (if you haven't) for Chinese plastic blocks (VNese factories don't produce them).

Here a place you may want to try (other places are too far from Hanoi centre):

ETOYS - CENTER 28/44B ĐIỆN BIÊN PHỦ - BA ĐÌNH - HÀ NỘI

have not seen the duplos. soft foam small ones are on Trang tien street in the bookstore on the tt plaza side. there's a few regular lego stores - one on luong van can. other than that, you can try son tay street - lots of clothes and toys - might luck out.

At one stage the Citimart at Vincom had actual duplo but the stock changes. Have you tried the Lego shops? There is one in Hai Ba Trung, and one in Kim Ma. I don't know how the prices are, they were high before summer but now probably horrendously expensive.I was looking at Lego today at Hanoi Towers. One bionicle for 400 000, ridiculous.!!!!!!

Seems that lego has become the Gucci of children's stick-together blocks. I'm really looking for the larger ones for smaller kids, and my ambition is to accumulate tons of them (enough to build things with) same as I had as a kid before lego got trendy and started coming in no-imagination-needed, some-assembly-required packs.

That said, I should probably go see the lego store to see what the last 25 years have wrought...
