Where to buy rat poison?
no photo available

Seeing as the mouse mafia appear to have moved into our house and are now even using our toilet paper to build their own little beds at night, the time has come to retaliate! (We've tried traps and they haven't worked and we don't want to use those glue sheets which leave the poor buggers half alive and ripping their own legs off in an attempt to escape - I kid you not, its nasty!) So, does anyone know where to buy plain and simple mouse poison in Hanoi? Someone told us that you can get it at the pharmacy (??!) but so far this has only resulted in some very bewildered looks!

What if they die in a place you can't get to in the house? The rotting smell is going to be NASTY!!!

Good luck with killing them.

Ferris Wheel

You can buy traps. They're useful. And of course, you know exactly where they are so you don't have that terrible rotting smell as Ouriel said.
There are 2 kinds widely sold here:
Hard-paper board with clue and a small cage with bait.
You can find them in any market.

Good luck.

I tried to find the shop you mentioned Hung_107, but no luck! Maybe I was having a blonde moment (happens sometimes!), but there was nothing at this address, are you sure this is the location of the shop itself?

I don't understand the reason why you could not find that shop. I have just called for them to ask their address again and check the shop's address that I gave you. Everything is true information about shop you needed to buy rat poison.

I write down its address agian:
*) 4 floor - 311 Tay Son Street - Dong Da District - Ha Noi (English Address)
*) Tầng 4, số nhà 311, phố Tây Sơn, Quận Đống Đa, Hà Nội (Vietnamese Address)

And here is their phone: 04.5641381

you can call for them to check again or you call for me and them I will help you go to that shop.

Take Care !

Hung_107 - thanks so much for going to all that trouble! As it turns out, I ended up managing to buy some sachets of rat poison from one those guys that walks the street selling...well, everything - He had dusters, cleaning scrubs, nails, string, you name it. Anyway, in amongst it all he also had "thuoc chuot" (translation = medicine for rats) - and it worked a treat too! I sprinkled it on some bread and hey presto, next day there were 2 dead mice lying on the floor! Result!

I think the most natural way for you to deal with this problem is raising a Cat. As my experience( My house also had many rats running around). Just the sound of a cat can scare the rats. And also, the cat must be raise free running in the house. They can take care them sels so we don't need to care much, just a little of food a day is ok. And after you leave you can give the cat to the other ones.
