Hi all,
I'm looking for life drawing classes/groups (that is drawing nudes, in a no-happy-endings, strictly art kinda way!)
Does anyone know if any classes or groups exist here?
drawing (add tags) Why? Details of tags

You could go to the Hanoi University of Fine Arts at 42 Yet Kieu to check out their drawing classes. Not sure if they have life drawing classes for non-students but they might consider letting you audit or something.

Do you need a permit for something like this? If not, we could find volunteers or hire a model for a small group.

Hi there.. I was running a life drawing group last year, and am keen to start it up again.... THe main problem with it was that I wanted to draw and I ended up teaching! So if people are just keen to come along and draw I even have a couple of models and venues in mind... Let me know what you think... Sam

I am a professional model for life drawing/painting classes - have references - would like to start posing again.

Cool! This is great. I'd be keen to get a little group going as long as it wasn't too pricey. I'm just looking for a space to draw, not classes per se so let's make sure you don't end up teaching Sam. (Sam, we met last weekend at the 80s party! I'm Sylvia-Em's housemate). Should we make a time and post it here for people to come and quickly talk about it if they're keen. Does next Wednesday, 6pm at Puku suit people?
I have to work that evening, so someone please fill me in if everyone meets up.
Hey i am looking for a volunteer illustrator to draw some education materials for children on food, health and environment. So if you enjoy drawing tomatoes and composting, msg me. sorry for cross posting. Thanks
SOunds great.. See you at Puku! Roman it is great to know you want to do some modelling here because the model I usually use is away at the moment, and it;s great to have some variety!

Hello all - I would be up for participating in this. On the drawing side of the easel... Is this a go?
I think it's gonna be a go DevDuo. If you can make it to the meeting at Puku tonight that would be great. Otherwise stay tuned and I'll post again here to let you know the outcome of the meeting. If I was a good drawer I'd help you angel... Thanks for your offer Roman. See you tonight (Sam at least!)

If you guys set up a group on the site for this, you can post it to the event calendar. That might get you a bit more of a turnout (if you're looking for it).

Heyeee all, Sorry, this has slipped by the wayside a bit recently because work is currently eating all my time and brain power. I've had a few people tell me that the Hanoi School classes are good and cheap. Along with Angel's post, this makes for a good case. A friend is checking it out for me, and I'll keep you all posted.

Hello! I'm a brand-new New Hanoian, and following the advice in this thread went to the School of Fine Arts and asked around for drawing classes. Basically, we can join the full time students' morning classes, which run 6 days a week - I'll be doing Mon, Wed, Fri. Each class is 3hrs (8-11) and about $5 - but I'll get a definite price when i start at the beginning of November. Apparently the classes are either of nudes or still lives, and the medium is usually charcoal. I had hoped for a bit more variety, but we'll see how it goes. Hope to see you there! Dan.

Thanks for the info Dan; I went to the School of Fine Arts a couple of months ago and couldn't get any info whatsoever. So how does it work? Do you just turn up at 8 and enter a class or would you have to book? Do you bring your own materials or do you get it there (since they insist on the charcoal)?

Did the meeting at Puku ever happen? Anything decided? I would have been there, but I was out of the country for a few weeks. I'd really like for this to happen. Could someone please give me the scoop?

Never made it to Puku! With all good intentions... we never actually formed a group... Did speak to Sneaky though... I'm really keen! Just no time to organise it!! THe classes at the Fine Arts School don't suit me because I work 7-4 mon-fri... I would still love to do some kind of life drawing, the rainy nights are getting me a little more artisticly inclined... ANyone else keen to organise it??? Happy to help with supplies and I would definitly turn up....

Hmmm Dan, do you know if any classes happen out of working hours? Sounds like there's a lot of interest. I'll check back next week. If we don't hear from Dan how about we just go ahead and organise one ourselves! If I don't hear I'll post another meeting time so keep looking here for more info...
