Try - Vijit, 42K Yen Phu, (04) 715 2056. Down the road 300m from Sofitel Plaza (towards the city). Not much atmosphere, well none at all - but the food is good. Lots of garlic and chilli.

Yeah, my housemates also recommend Vijit as the only decent place for Thai.
Word of warning: I tried to order home delivery from there a week or so ago - after 1.5 hours and 3 assurances that my food was on its way, they finally admitted that they didn't know where my street was (on Tay Ho, near a large pagoda), no I couldn't speak with the manager, and they wouldn't be delivering my dinner after all.
I'm going to go in there & draw them a map. Thai food is worth it.

A lot of people were familiar with the old location of Vijit, but they seemed to fall off the map (of general word of mouth discussion) after the move. That's been quite a while now, so maybe they've rebounded a bit.
Some reviews would be nice.
