November Prizes & the December Meet-Up!

Greetings New Hanoians one and all. Here in the midst of the holiday season, we're happy to deliver a round of goodies a couple weeks early. After another busy month here on the site, another trio have distinguished themselves through their stellar contributions. More than just being erudite members of our ever-growing community, they are now award winning members. In fact, for one of them, it will be his third trip to the winner's circle. I dare say he's left a bit of a mark here on these pages. Our first winner, however, is receiving her first New Hanoian accolades. The fact is, she's only been in town for a short while. Take note all those who think that they may not have been here long enough to have something valuable to add...Angel has done plenty (7 reviews, 28 answers on Ask A.N.H., and several new spots entered) in just such a short time. To show our appreciation, we're sending Angel to Trung Hoa for a visit to Tes Decor. In one of Hanoi's hottest new destinations for top of the line furniture and decorative items, Angel will get to choose among a variety of handmade Bronze figurines and statuettes imported directly from Pakistan. Whether it winds up being a unique gift for one of her loved one's in the coming season or a prominently displayed conversation starter in her new flat, there won't be many around who have one like it. Our next prize winner is another first time recepient of a New Hanoian user contribution prize. Jestert79 was just edged out in last month's round of giveaways, but this time through he just wouldn't be denied. As a reward for his perseverance and all the hard work he's put in, he and a guest are going to get a chance to unwind courtesy of Binh's salon and spa. They'll be getting the total, head-to-toe treatment. Hair cleansing, scalp massage, body massage, facials, manicures, pedicures...name it. They're going to have to set aside a whole afternoon for the explicit purpose of washing away all the little stresses that can build up in Hanoi after a while. This will remind them of one of the reasons why it's so great to be here. Last, but obviously not least, we have the winner chosen by you. The staff here at the New Hanoian have to admit that this community has some pretty good taste in reviews. We've already singled this man out for contribution awards twice, and now you've told us that his review of Ky Y was the best review of the month of November. Thanks to your recognition of his skills, HanoiRob is going to be taking a group of friends out for a night of absolutely free drinking in one of Hanoi's newest bars. He and three male friends and as many female friends as he can round up will be drinking on the house at Red Bar. Really? As many lady friends as he knows? Yes, because those four lucky guys will be getting their complimentary booze on Bar Red's Ladies Night...where all ladies, every Friday night from 7pm~10pm, drink for free. Unlimited booze for HanoiRob, three guy friends, and the ladies of Hanoi. How about a round of applause for our three winners? Now, on to the next order of business, which is the December New Hanoian Meet Up. After a trip back to our roots at Bia Hoi Zin last month, we're jumping up the style scale a few notches. The December Meet-Up is set and ready to go on the 22nd at Tipsy Ultra Lounge. From 7:30~10:30 there will be free beer for any registered New Hanoian member. Yep, all you can drink. The crew at Tipsy will also be hooking us all up with some free food and other goodies throughout the evening. Get yourself and all your friends all out to 103A Hang Bong in a couple weeks. All are welcome. We'll have computers at Tipsy for those who are not already site members to sign up and enjoy their first night on the town courtesy of New Hanoian membership. Rumor has it that this month month may be featuring a prize of unprecendented scale.
