The October Meet Up!

All right all you New Hanoians, here's one last reminder of this weekend's meet up at Bar Red. With the numbers at each gathering far exceeding the last, we're expecting a rocking good time. Rally the troops and get everybody to Trung Hoa on Saturday night. Lets fill this place and show them what the New Hanoian crowd is all about! For just about all of us, Bar Red is a new spot on the Hanoi scene. It's as nice a space to open in Hanoi for a while, so we want to make sure everybody knows exactly how to get there: From the Daewoo, head south on Nguyen Chi Thanh. This will go for quite a while and eventually become Tran Duy Hung (after you pass Duong Lang). The intersection with Duong Lang is a small bridge with cross streets on both sides, and as soon as you completely clear that intersection (including the cross street just after the bridge), you'll be taking your next left. It's an easy turn to find because there is a median between the two directions of traffic and the first break in the median is your street. That is Nguyen Thi Dinh. (The signs at the beginning of the street should clearly mark it, but don't be surprised if most of the buildings don't have that street name...the name of the street was changed just three weeks ago. It used to just be called Trung Hoa.) The bar is about a half a KM down the street on the left. It's a long curving street and you'll pass a brightly lit cafe called "Luu Club" just before the turn into Bar Red. There will be a sign for the Bar out on the street, but the actual bar itself is set off the street a little ways. If you're taking a cab, just write down: 8A Nguyen Thi Dinh Trung Hoa If the cabbie doesn't seem to know the new street, just give the bar a call at (04) 556 6577, or call me (Elliott) at 0988 362 218. We'll set 'em straight. It's pretty easy to find, really. The drinks will start flowing at 8pm and will be absolutely free for the next three hours. Sign up before you come, or use one of the computers we'll provide at the bar.
